How to use our legal redress program.

Before using our legal redress program, you must try all grievance options with appropriate authorities. This is also true if you need an attorney. Legal redress is not the same as legal assistance.

If you have tried all grievance options through appropriate authorities, and find that your civil rights were violated by one or more of those authorities, then please apply to us for legal redress.

About our Legal Redress Program

The NAACP Pueblo Branch Legal Redress Committee addresses issues of civil, criminal, and juvenile justice. We advocate increasing the awareness of racial profiling, gun violence, police brutality, and other injustices disproportionately affecting our community.

We provide referrals to organizations and individuals that may provide the assistance you're looking for. We do not provide legal representation, nor do we provide direct programs and services.

The NAACP Pueblo Branch is not a law firm, does not have a staff of attorneys and does not give legal advice. Our Legal Redress Committee will investigate your complaint and determine if we should refer you to the proper agency, authority, or attorney to handle your complaint. We do not take complaints over the phone or without the completed complaint form. We will only investigate or make referrals within the purview of our mission.

The NAACP’s principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority citizens of the United States and eliminate race prejudice.
